Privacy Policy
Jotsum is private by design. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, and no tracking. Your notes and calculations stay on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. Jotsum does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We have no servers that receive your data, no user accounts, and no way to identify you.
Your data stays on your device
Everything you type — your calculations, sheets, and folders — is saved locally on your own Mac or iPhone, inside the app's sandbox. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else. With Jotsum Pro, your sheets can additionally sync between your devices through your own iCloud account (Apple's iCloud Documents) — that data lives under your Apple ID with Apple, never with us, and we cannot read it. If you delete the app, that data goes with it. Use of standard system features like iCloud backup is controlled entirely by you.
Network use
The only time Jotsum touches the network is to fetch live currency exchange rates and stock quotes, from public providers: Frankfurter (European Central Bank reference rates), CoinGecko (crypto prices) and Yahoo Finance (stock quotes). These are anonymous, read-only requests for public market data — they contain no personal information and no identifier for you or your device. Rates and quotes are cached so the app also works offline. If you never use currency or stock conversion, Jotsum still works fully offline. Purchases of Jotsum Pro are processed entirely by Apple's App Store; we receive no payment details.
Analytics & tracking
None. Jotsum contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and does not use the Advertising Identifier. We do not profile you and we do not share or sell data, because we never have any.
Children
Jotsum collects no data from anyone, including children, and contains no objectionable content. It is suitable for all ages.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date below. Material changes will be reflected in the app's release notes.
